As far as sisters go our looks couldn’t be more polar opposite. Lucy was stunning, in the words utmost sense. Her lightly freckled skin glowed. Her bright red hair made her emerald green eyes almost pop out of her head. At times I was jealous when I was younger. Her personality was fundamentally different from me as well. To put it in a condensed version she had not come to know the meaning of the word shallow yet or how it fit her perfectly. I liked to believe she would change within the course of maturity but there were points where I couldn’t be sure. She had a heart though; I had seen her show the occasional compassion. Conflict held nothing on her, she was strong willed. A good quality, one I lacked. I bent over backward to please nearly everyone, or at least I tried.
“Blake don’t be late last week I was the last one there and it was just awful” she pouted. I had apologized at least a hundred times since the event occurred still she wouldn’t let it go.
“I’ll get here quick as I can” I promised with a halfhearted smile, a dose of humanity would do her well. “Be good in school today, you saw mom this morning she doesn’t need a trip to the principles office added to her load” I said in a more serious tone.
“Yeah, yeah” she waved me off as she shut the car door running over to a group of squealing girls. I drove a few blocks over to the high school where I saw none other than Laurence stepping out of his car. I parked quickly stepping out of my car. I put my ear buds in my ear beginning to walk towards the entrance of Honeybrooke High. When I reached my hall I took out my ipod to put in my locker. I was spinning the dial of my lock when I felt a hard “fake” punch in the arm.
“Hey Adrian” I laughed.
“Blake when are going to quit laughing at my punches?” he whined. I laughed a little more.
“When they start to hurt” I smiled at his six foot figure. I had to look up at him but than again most girls did, and trust me many girls were looking. He was a handsome boy I could not deny it. When he moved here two years ago we became fast friends.
“If only you were a boy it would make it so much easier” he muttered again I couldn’t help but laugh. Adrian didn’t hit girls (hard) his mother had implemented very strictly that hitting girls was about the worst thing he could do, aside from committing a murder or such a felony. We walked to English one of our three classes together laughing nearly the entire way from one thing or another.
Once the bell rang we headed our separate ways. I walked alone to calculus merely watching the people around me. I spotted Laurence as he walked in with a freshly attached body. A girl who looked as if she were glued to him by the hip, I nearly let out a giggle but regained my composure in time to stop it. After class I saw the two reattach. Lunch cam round sooner than I expected, but glad for the break I smiled on my way to the cafeteria.
